Complete care after birth, all in one place
Evolve Postnatal Clinic brings together care for the woman, her baby, feeding and the transition into motherhood. Services range from accessible, focused postnatal appointments to longer private consultations and ongoing care.
You can self-refer for postnatal care and do not need a GP referral. Eligible appointments during the first six weeks after birth can be bulk billed through Medicare. Private appointments are also available for women without Medicare and for care outside Medicare eligibility.

Postnatal Appointments
Focused, accessible care for you and your baby during the first six weeks after birth.
You can self refer for a postnatal appointment and do not need a referral from your GP or hospital.
Appointments are centred on your main concerns and may include:
• Your physical recovery and postnatal health
• Emotional wellbeing and adjustment after birth
• Baby weight, growth and general newborn concerns
• Breastfeeding, bottle feeding or mixed feeding support
• Practical guidance, clinical assessment and referral when required
Medicare eligible appointments are bulk billed during the first six weeks after birth. You will be asked to complete an assignment of benefit following your appointment.
If you do not have Medicare or are not eligible for bulk billing, private appointments are available. Please contact the clinic before booking so that we can advise you of the applicable fee.
For concerns requiring a more detailed feeding assessment or additional time, a longer private lactation consultation may be more appropriate.
Private Lactation Consultations
Longer, specialist appointments for feeding concerns requiring a more detailed assessment.
Private lactation consultations are available at any stage of your breastfeeding or infant feeding journey. They are suited to women and families experiencing specific, complex or ongoing concerns that need more time than a focused postnatal appointment.
Support may include:
• Painful feeding, nipple pain or breast concerns
• Latch difficulties or breast refusal
• Low milk supply or concerns about milk transfer
• Concerns about your baby’s weight gain or feeding effectiveness
• Pumping, expressing and returning to work
• Mixed feeding, supplementation or bottle feeding
• Oral function assessment and referral when appropriate
• Rebuilding confidence following conflicting advice
• Ongoing feeding concerns that have not resolved
Your consultation includes a detailed feeding assessment, oral function assessment where indicated, individualised guidance, appropriate referrals and a practical plan based on the needs of you and your baby.
Fee and Medicare rebate
Consultation fee: $180
Medicare rebate for eligible women with a baby under six weeks: approximately $111
Estimated out of pocket cost after rebate: $69
The full consultation fee is paid at the appointment. You will then need to submit your claim to Medicare.
For appointments when your baby is older than six weeks, or if you are not eligible for a Medicare rebate, the full private consultation fee applies.
Complete Postnatal Care
Planned care and priority appointment scheduling from birth through to six weeks.
Complete postnatal care is available for women who would like continuity and planned support throughout the early postnatal period, rather than arranging individual appointments as concerns arise.
Care may include:
• Priority appointment scheduling, subject to availability
• Regular assessment of your postnatal health and recovery
• Emotional wellbeing and adjustment support
• Baby weight, growth and newborn care
• Breastfeeding and infant feeding support
• Ongoing guidance as your needs change
• Referral to other health professionals when appropriate
Your care will be planned around the needs of you and your baby throughout the first six weeks following birth.
Availability for complete postnatal care is limited.

Pregnancy and Pre Pregnancy Support
While Evolve is primarily focused on care after birth, personalised support is also available for women preparing for pregnancy or navigating pregnancy.
Options may include:
• Pre pregnancy preparation sessions
• Pregnancy support and coaching
• Birth, feeding and postnatal preparation
• Mindset and decision-making support
• Tailored private care packages
• Online appointments for women across Australia
These services are individually arranged and may be available as a single consultation or as a tailored package.
